INTERNSHIP OR VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME
NATIONAL LEGAL COUNCIL (A legal wing of All
India Council of Human Rights, Liberties and Social Justice - AICHLS) NLC's
internship or volunteer programme is a challenging and interesting experience
for those committed to human rights and social justice in India. We offer an
exciting opportunity to participate in movements for social change and welcome
people from all fields to contribute to our initiatives. Interns and volunteers
are an integral part of our dynamic team and we greatly value their efforts,
creativity and contributions.
NATIONAL LEGAL COUNCIL (A LEGAL WING OF AICHLS)
appreciates the support it receives from its National and International interns/volunteers.
Our interns and volunteers go back with the commitment to contribute to the
society through the experience they have gained while working with us.
We welcome and encourage internship
applications from students in law schools and Institutes of Social Work that
are less well known and outside the metro cities.
We actively support women, dalit and disabled
students and volunteers and will do our best to make reasonable adjustments to
our working environments and practices to accommodate equal access and
opportunities.
Priority consideration will be given to
applicants who have exhibited an interest in human rights, social and legal
issues, and an eagerness to interact, learn and teach, for example by their
voluntary work or activism on relevant causes.
NATIONAL LEGAL COUNCIL (A LEGAL WING OF AICHLS)
has zero tolerance for behaviour or attitudes that display sexism, racism,
castism, homophobia, or discrimination based on disability, age, community or
religion. Our interns and volunteers will be treated in accordance with this
code and in turn are expected to follow it while on placement with us.
NATIONAL LEGAL COUNCIL (A LEGAL WING OF AICHLS)
is a voluntary organisation supported by donations and is therefore unable to
pay or reimburse any intern or volunteer for their travel, food and
accommodation expenses or provide insurance cover. Although you will always
find NATIONAL LEGAL COUNCIL (A LEGAL WING OF AICHLS) colleagues helpful and
friendly, as a small unit, we cannot provide assistance with accommodation and
travel.
We Seek
Enthusiastic people committed to human rights,
with willingness to interact with others, and increase their hands-on
experience of social and legal issues. They should have good research, writing
and communications skills, as well as showing an ability to meet tight
deadlines.
We Expect
A minimum commitment of three months for
international interns and one month for national interns who will work with an
advocate or a social worker. Interns are expected to show professionalism while
performing their tasks and produce a report at the end of their assignment.

gives a wonderful opportunity for interns to meet their peers all over the
world. They will explore the legal and social challenges people face in the
human rights field in India and develop the skills to understand how the law
and social activism can achieve practical benefits for ordinary people. Interns
will build their capacity to conduct research related to NATIONAL LEGAL COUNCIL
(A LEGAL WING OF AICHLS)’s initiatives, drafting public interest petitions,
fact-finding, updating the website, writing articles and publications,
organizing workshops and conferences and such-like. They might also be required
to travel to other parts of India to conduct fact finding and research on human
rights issues.

registered Society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, and is
functioning with commitment to the Noble Cause of Human Rights Protection and
Promotion, Justice for All, Economic Upliftment of the Underprivileged,
Education, Love, Peace, Harmony and Friendship, National & International
Integration by Exchange of Ideas & Ethos in India and also amongst the
neighboring countries and the people of the rest of the World at large.

branches in India and abroad, having Thousands of dedicated volunteers.
AICHLS is a social organization for the ignored, disregarded,
over-looked, victimized, oppressed, depressed, tortured people of the
society and it cultivates awareness in them with regard to their

AICHLS collects problems, complaints and grievances of the sufferers

World Human Rights Day, World Women’s and Peace Day, World Press Freedom Day
and above all, World Human Rights Day, as also organising different meetings,
seminars, conventions, assemblies, conferences, cultural programmes, Youth
camps, and judiciary camps.
AICHLS has number of prestigious projects for future are lined up
for execution. AICHLS is handling HUNDREDS of Human Rights Centers all
over India and has Lacks of members in the organization who are supporting the
cause of Human Rights, Liberties & social Justice.
Besides making efforts in educating people of their rights, AICHLS
has also been encouraging and felicitating various prominent personalities who
have done commendable work in the arena of Human Welfare and protection of
Human Rights every year, on the occasion of World Human Rights Day, ALL INDIA
COUNCIL OF HUMAN RIGHTS,LIBERTIES & SOCIAL JUSTICE(AICHLS) felicitates a
number of Diplomates, Judges, social workers, Leaders and super stars of Indian
film industry for their dedicated contribution towards betterment of the
societies and others.
AICHLS opened a Legal Cell at Delhi and throughout India. Legal
Services are, provided with the help of Delhi Legal Services Authority &
National Legal Services Authority which are helpful to poor, down-trodden,
women, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, Handicapped, Children, Labour,
Factory Workers and other weaker sections of the society.
AICHLS also dedicatedly operating a leading news site (www.newsindiatoday.tv), that raises
voice against all sorts of evils and injustice boldly, simultaneously creating
consciousness, awareness in the minds of the people and educating them to train
their minds to be united. Through the medium of its written communication, it
alerts the Government, defaces and unveils the criminals and corrupt
people.
AICHLS in liaison with NGOs & Government Organization seeks
mutual help for a better coordination to form a welfare society
For any legal advice to any social problems, GRATIS (COST-FREE)
advice is rendered by AICHLS to the needy.
AICHLS faces and defends of its own the cases in the Courts.
AICHLS is endeavoring to open Residential Secular Schools,
Colleges, Hospitals and Old-Age-Homes in all parts of the Country to enhance
the Government’s initiative in these sectors.
We have a lofty vision of networking with the nations in the world
who solemnly agree with us to promote human values in the globe. We are
contemplating to create an innovative and integrated learning network, campus
learning and community management network. Our focus is to empower the
campus and help reach out to the world to consolidate and deliver knowledge
with respect to human rights issues that haunt the world today and to bring
about peace, harmony and amity amongst us.
