AICHLS VIEWS : WE STRONGLY CONDEMN THE REMARKS OF SHRI MULAYAM SINGH YADAV JI ON RAPE , WE DEMAND SHRI AMITABH BACHCHAN TO BOYCOTT THE PROMOTION OF NETAJI FILM.SAID , JUNE ANN MS, ALL INDIA PRESIDENT , WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

“Mulayam Singh believes that it is impossible for 4 men to gangrape a woman and the survivor is lying in such cases,” says Meetali in her petition.

“Amitabh Bachchan has been asked to introduce and promote the film “Netaji- Mulayam Singh Yadav” … Sign my petition and ask Amitabh Bachchan to boycott the film and any promotions, in protest of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s horrible sexist remarks about rape survivors.”

Mulayam Singh Yadav believes that the Badaun rape case was “blown out of proportion and women exaggerate rape claims to “settle scores.” As a young woman living in India, I’m horrified by the statements of Mulayam Singh Yadav!

Shockingly, Amitabh Bachchan has been asked to introduce and promote the film “Netaji- Mulayam Singh Yadav” celebrating the life and achievements of Mulayam Singh Yadav!

Sign my petition and ask Amitabh Bachchan to boycott the film and any promotions, in protest of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s horrible sexist remarks about rape survivors.

Amitabh Bachchan over the years has taken a stand on social issues regarding women and has generously supported organisations working for the upliftment of girls in India. Meanwhile, Mulayam Singh believes that it is impossible for 4 men to gangrape a woman and the survivor is lying in such cases.

Veteran bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan promoting film "Netaji" is giving validation to the deeply sexist comments by Mulayam Singh Yadav and his misogynistic ideology about women.

"Here the rate of rape cases is only 2% while in Madhya Pradesh it is 9 and in Rajasthan it is 7. In Delhi the situation is worse." Is that what rape is for you, Mulayam Singh? A number, a statistic? Shame on you!

While Mulayam Singh continues to pass insensitive, sexist remarks, there are biopics being made to celebrate his achievements.

If thousands sign this petition, we can ensure that veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan boycott the film celebrating achievements of sexist and insensitive politicians like Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Join the International Youth Day 2015 celebrations

The theme of International Youth Day’ 2015 is “Youth Civic Engagement.” The engagement and participation of youth is essential to achieve sustainable human development. Yet often the opportunities for youth to engage politically, economically and socially are low or non-existent.

More efforts are needed to raise awareness about the importance of youth civic engagement and its benefits to the individual and to society, including for sustainable development as well as resilience and wellbeing. The International Youth Day 2015 campaign aims at promoting civic engagement and participation of youth in politics and public life, so that young people can be empowered and bring a full contribution to society, development and peace.  You can be part of these efforts!

Background
In 1985, the UN celebrated the first International Year of Youth. On its 10th anniversary, the General Assembly adopted the World Programme of Action for Youth, setting a policy framework and guidelines for national action and international support to improve the situation of young people.

15 Priority Areas adopted by the General Assembly:
ü Education
ü Employment
ü Hunger and poverty
ü Health
ü Environment
ü Drug abuse
ü Juvenile delinquency
ü Leisure-time activities
ü Girls and young women
ü Participation
ü Globalization
ü Information and communication technologies
ü HIV/AIDS
ü Youth and conflict
ü Inter generational relations
The All India Council of Human Rights , Liberties and Social Justice Programme on Youth serves as the Focal Point on Youth.

Today, the World Programme of Action for Youth plays a prominent role in youth development. It focuses on measures to strengthen national capacities in the field of youth and to increase the quality and quantity of opportunities available to young people for full, effective and constructive participation in society.

It undertakes a range of activities to promote youth development including supporting intergovernmental policy-making, conducting analytical research and increasing the effectiveness of the UN’s work in youth development by strengthening collaboration and exchange among UN entities through the Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development.
As we celebrate this International Youth Day ‘2015, the global economy is going through a period of uncertainty.  Rising unemployment takes a heavy toll among young people who are particularly vulnerable to shocks in the labour market.  Lay-offs, restructuring and insufficient opportunities to enter the world of work condemn many to a life of economic hardship and despair.  We have seen, all too often, the tragedy of young lives misspent in crime, drug abuse, civil conflict and even terrorism.

Justice Vijender Jain Chairperson Haryana Human Rights Commission & Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission

Dear Dr.Raju,

I received your Email that you are launching a WEB NEWS TV dedicated to Human Rights. Unfortunately, the true scope, effect and   meaning of Protection of Human Rights and prevention of violation of Human Rights has not been understood in clear prospective by the State administration and its functionaries in India.  Good governance is a hallmark of delivering justice to the people which includes nepotism free, corruption free, efficacious, transparent and responsive governance by the authorities. The day we realize this, there will be no room for violations of human rights in our country.

I wish your launch a great success.

With best wishes,

Justice Vijender Jain

Haryana Human Rights Commission &
Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission
